Melissa Giorgio
Melissa Giorgio is a native New Yorker who graduated from Queens College with a degree in English. She’s always dreamed of being a writer and has been creating stories (mostly in her head) since she was a little girl. While in college, she completed her first novel for the National Novel Writing Month contest. It wasn’t very good, but it taught her a valuable lesson on how to write a novel. The idea for The Sight Seer came to her while at work; after her shift was over, she raced home and proceeded to write the first two chapters in one sitting. Forty-two days later, the first draft was finished. Melissa is also an avid reader who loves to devour thick YA novels.
Cassie Mae
Cassie Mae is a full time writer and mother from Utah. She loves being glued to the computer, thinking up new stories and writing the day away while the kids run wild at her feet. When she finished her first novel, she started a blog, which now gets over 5,000 hits a month. Her group blog also is dedicated to
reaching out to aspiring authors by providing critiques and other marketingtools to help them be successful in the industry. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with the youth in her community as a volleyball and basketball coach, or searching the house desperately for chocolate

been dreaming up stories and sharing them with whoever will listen. Her readers describe her as one of the purest storytellers of all time; pulling of romance, suspense and a touch of fantasy, all in the same piece. She has been compared to Diana Gabaldon of The Outlander series.
As single mother, Denise resides in San Diego and is still raising the youngest of her four beautiful daughters. She free-lances as a hairstylist and make-up artist. She is very active in the community, directing and teaching for the national CYT, children’s theater. During her free time she enjoys hanging out with all four of her daughters, Autumn, Brittany, Kendall and Journey and taking a hike or an evening sail on the bay with her boyfriend, Scott Dazey. She is a firm
believer in NEVER giving up on your dreams. She carves time out of her hectic schedule to write and create. By those closest to her, she is known as “the story teller.” It’s what she was created to do.

Leslie Downie
Lesley
decided she wanted to be a writer after tragedy struck her family’s
gold-and-green-toned living room in the summer of 1973. Their only TV, a
20-inch black and white television, broke – sending her off to the bookstore.
It was there she discovered the novels that would inspire her to pick up pen
and paper and write down her own stories. By the time the TV was fixed, she’d
read Little Women and the Little House on the Prairie series.
She divides her time between writing, work, and
family in Redlands, California, where she is a member of the Redlands Fiction
Writing Group and works with her mentor award-winning writer, Bruce McAllister.
Tunnels is Lesley’s second novel.
Stephanie Haefner
Stephanie Haefner is a wife, mother of two, and contemporary
romance novelist from Buffalo, NY. Her titles include A Bitch Named Karma, it’s sequel, Karma Kameleon, Paradise Cove,
and Soap Dreams. A member of Romance
Writers of America and the Western New York Romance Writers subchapter, she
loves creating sassy heroines and tossing them into sexy circumstances. When
not writing, tweeting, or blogging she celebrates her sassiness with dance and
Zumba classes, and her nerdiness with boybands and Disney World.
Coleen Burright
C.J. Burright blames her love for
reading and all things Medieval on her father, who plied her often with fantasy
novels ranging from Sir Lloyd Alexander to Piers Anthony. Her love for romance, however, lies
completely at the feet of her best friend Michelle, who dared to give her a
romance novel for her birthday. She
smiled, politely said thank you, and tossed it in the corner, where it gathered
dust. In a moment of desperation, when
only the revolting romance remained in her almost-always toppling stack of
awaiting books, she sucked it up and read the romance. Doomed.
She started writing fantasy and paranormal romance for the cathartic
experience, decided she liked it, and after two overlong, horribly written
novels joined RWA and the Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal special interest
chapter. Best classes and critique
groups ever. Double doomed. Now, writing is a necessity, not just a
hobby. In her spare time when she’s not writing or reading or actually working,
C.J. might be found in the dojang (4th Dan Black Belt, baby),
rooting on the Mariners (who will
someday win the World Series), working out (P90X, anyone?), gardening (a little
dirt never hurt anyone), or playing Music of the Night on the piano (without
mask or cape). She lives in Oregon with her fabulous husband and daughter. Not
to mention her minions, a herd of cats.
Chase Baldwin
CHASE BALDWIN
lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and works as a Radiologic Technologist. He is
also a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist. He spends a lot of time
volunteering with high school students, which is what inspired him to write for
the YA audience.
Seth Herman
Growing up with a strange combination of Tom Clancy, Michael
Crichton, JRR Tolkien, and JK Rowling probably gave birth to Seth Z. Herman’s
YA/fantasy/thriller style of writing. Seth hails from Queens, New York, where
he grew up as an (admittedly sheltered) Orthodox Jew. A lifetime of experiences
later, he now lives in Jerusalem with his wife and two children. Some of those
experiences include:
- a bachelor’s degree in computer networking
from Yeshiva University
- a graduate degree in education
- a Rabbinical Seminar degree (yup, he’s
officially a rabbi)
- the release of two music albums
- In terms of the writing
thing, Seth has always had a passion for books, as his eighth grade English
project can attest (5-page fiction assignment, turned in 22 pages). After
deciding he wanted to write seriously, Seth devoured as many writing-technique
books as he could get his hands on, and starting working on his craft. He sold
two short stories relatively quickly, and then proceeded to spend almost every
free minute working on a novel. He currently teaches Judaic studies at an American program
in Jerusalem, for post-high-school students who come to Israel to study.
Rebecca Smith
REBECCA SMITH (A.G.
Starling) has always had a passion for storytelling and romance. This
coupled with her sense of adventure has taken her to places like Turkey,
Singapore, Indonesia, Egypt, the desert of Wadi Rum and the ancient city of
Petra where she had hoped to go galloping out on horseback like Indiana Jones
in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
She has lived in multiple cities and had a variety of jobs, from being an
aerobics instructor to working in an art gallery in NYC. She earned her PhD in
philosophy from Columbia University and now teaches at a community college in
Northern California where she looks upon her students as though they were her
own children and tortures them mercilessly. She has been published in magazine
and newspaper, sold a story to Paramount Pictures and is a member of the RWA.
She is an avid tennis fan and an ardent reader of the author who designed the
flawless blueprint for the romance novel—Jane Austen.
Lucy D. Briand
Lucy D. Briand
is a member of the SCBWI, the RWA, the ORWA, the YARWA and a volunteer on
SavvyAuthors.com. She has three years of
experience as an editor and publisher for the Government of Canada. She has
also attended the RT Booklovers Convention two years in a row, was a finalist in the
American Idol writers contest this year and is looking forward to attending again next year in
New Orleans.
C. Rosa
C. Rosa (Claudia Carozza) lives by the Jersey shore with her husband
and their four year old son. In 2008, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in
Communications with a concentration in Writing Arts. After taking some time off
to start a family, she made the decision to go back to school. In September of
2013, she will receive her Master’s Degree in Education. Writing has always
been a part of her life, but it wasn’t until she became a full time stay at
home mom when she decided to finish writing her first novel. Three books later,
and she signed her first NA romance with Entranced Publishing, releasing
December 2013. In between writing, and not letting the laundry pile too high,
she’s also active on her blog, twitter, and Facebook.
